WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE IN AN ACCIDENT

FIRST – recognize that you are injured and call for help

SECOND – obtain as much information as you can while still at the scene of the accident, or have someone do it for you (e.g. driver information, license plate numbers, street address where you fell, name, manufacturer and serial number of a product or machine, badge number of officers involved, names, addresses and phone numbers of witnesses, and bus or train numbers, etc.)

THIRD – take photographs or your injuries and/or property damaged as a result of the incident (e.g. clothes torn, car wrecked, ceiling collapsed, lock broken, etc.)
